The AWHC Board of Directors is composed of dedicated leaders from various sectors who are united by their passion for wild horses and their belief in AWHC.

Alan Mills

Alan Mills

Board Member

Alan K. Mills is a trusted adviser, skilled advocate, and accomplished litigator with decades of experience representing businesses, financial institutions, and individuals in complex legal matters. A former chair of Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Special Servicer Team and Finance, Insolvency, and Restructuring practice, Alan specialized in commercial real estate transactions, bankruptcy, and litigation involving fraud, breach of contract, RICO, and more. Notably, he served as financial institutions counsel to the government of Mexico and as outside general counsel for diverse organizations. Alan’s leadership extended to firm management, client relations, and diversity initiatives. Beyond his legal career, Alan is an avid jazz enthusiast and pop and modern art collector, with a strong commitment to community service through board memberships at organizations like the Indianapolis Museum of Art and Indiana Repertory Theatre.

Bill Hake

Bill Hake

Board Member

Bill Hake is a litigation attorney with national trial counsel, mediation and litigation management experience. For more than 25 years, Bill has taught and lectured at Harvard University School of Law and Stanford University School of Law on trial advocacy and on trial practice, evidence, civil litigation and mediation for the California State Bar Continuing Education Program and for the University of San Francisco School of Law. Bill also taught alternative dispute resolution and mediation for the U.S. Department of Justice and in the federal practice program for the federal court in Northern California. Bill is a founding board member of the American Wild Horse Conservation, and in 2023 was awarded the organization's Freedom Award for his outstanding service to the wild horse conservation cause.

Chloe Field

Chloe Field

Board Member

Chloe is a lifelong equestrian with a passion for show jumping. In her professional life, she is an environmental lawyer with a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an L.LM in environmental and energy law from NYU Law. The marriage of her personal and professional interests brought her to AWHC during her time in law school working at Harvard Law's Animal Welfare Clinic. After graduating she worked in general commercial litigation at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York. Most recently, she worked on legal solutions to climate change at the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University, focusing on the intersection of climate with securities and antitrust law. Chloe lives in New York with her husband, three dogs, two mini donkeys, and many horses.

Eleanor Phipps Price

As the owner of Dunstan Wines at Durell Vineyard in Sonoma County and Montgomery Creek Ranch, a 2,000-acre Northern California wild horse sanctuary with more than 200 rescued mustangs and burros, Ellie brings to the Board of Directors business management experience and an extensive knowledge of the issues and challenges of wild horse advocacy and management. Ellie is a founding board member of the American Wild Horse Conservation and is a leader in numerous other charitable and political causes.

Jenni Kayne

Board Member

Jenni Kayne is a celebrated entrepreneur, philanthropist, and lifelong equestrian whose passion for animal welfare has made her a leading advocate for wild horse conservation. Through her family foundation and personal advocacy, Jenni has supported American Wild Horse Conservation (AWHC) in raising national awareness, forging key partnerships, and advancing humane, science-based solutions to protect wild horses and their habitats. In recognition of her leadership and dedication, AWHC honored her with the 2024 Freedom Award, the organization’s highest distinction. Jenni’s vision, compassion, and commitment continue to inspire efforts to ensure that wild horses remain a living symbol of America’s natural heritage.

KT Merry

A tenacious visionary with big ideas, KT is a passionate artist and conservationist who truly loves her work. She’s always creating, forever a student, and brimming with wanderlust. Drawing on her decade of experience in fashion and editorial photography, KT’s known for natural, ethereal, painterly portraits and captured fleeting moments that seem to freeze both time and emotion. She runs in every city she visits, and has never met a dog she didn’t like. She has been a committed partner of  AWHC for many years, spreading awareness and supporting our work through proceeds from her Simply Wild photographic selection.

Olivia Chantecaille

Olivia Chantecaille is a visionary leader in beauty, sustainability, and philanthropy. As the Creative Director and co-founder of Chantecaille Beauté, she helped pioneer the use of botanicals and clean formulations in luxury skincare and cosmetics, transforming the beauty industry through a commitment to both innovation and environmental consciousness.

A lifelong advocate for wildlife and habitat protection, Olivia has championed numerous conservation initiatives around the world — from saving elephants and sea turtles to protecting coral reefs and wild horses. Her deep compassion for animals and the natural world has guided decades of philanthropic partnerships that link commerce with conservation.

A dedicated advocate and financial supporter of the American Wild Horse Conservation, Olivia brings to the board her experience in brand leadership, global storytelling, and mission-driven philanthropy. Her belief that beauty and responsibility are inseparable continues to inspire a new generation of conscious leaders and changemakers.

Patricia Miller

Patricia Miller

Board Chair

Patricia Miller's wealth of experience spans Fortune 500 to start-up brand and product launches and management and broad Board of Director leadership. Patricia is a social entrepreneur and climate activist focused in this critical decade on regeneration and the circular economy. Her passion is nature and advocacy for all sentient beings; An avid sanctuary supporter and animal rights activist. As CEO + Visionary of M4 Factory, she is an innovative leader in the field of regenerative, sustainable consumer product manufacturing and design. As Founder of Irving & Judd, she is defining a Factory to Consumer business model with small batch consumer goods with a vertically integrated supply chain and regenerative design/creation. Patricia's expertise is helping guide the American Wild Horse Conservation as we evolve from a small start-up into the nation's leading wild horse and burro conservation organization.

Stephanie Brown

Stephanie Brown

Board Member

Stephanie Brown is the Co-Founder and former President/CEO of Mrs. Pastures Cookies for Horses, the leading horse treat brand in the U.S. After earning her degree in agricultural economics from UC Davis, she pursued a successful career in finance, ultimately becoming VP of Institutional Fixed-Income Sales for Kidder Peabody & Co. in San Francisco and New York. Inspired by her passion for horses and entrepreneurial spirit, she left Wall Street to co-found and lead Mrs. Pastures, Inc.— turning a homemade cookie recipe into a thriving national brand. In 2021, after 34 years in business, she sold the company and retired. A lifelong equestrian and dressage rider, Stephanie adopted her mustang Marvin in 2017. She credits Marvin with giving her an intense respect for the intelligence, resilience, and heart of wild horses—and a strong desire to protect them both on- and off-range. Now living in Calistoga, CA, she and her husband Cory enjoy riding their mustangs through the vineyards of the Napa Valley.

Tyler Lewke

Tyler Lewke is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and business leader with more than two decades of experience building profitable enterprises. As co-leader of Lewke Partners Real Estate Collective, he has closed over $1 billion in sales and consistently holds the #1 market position in his region. He also owns multiple Keller Williams franchises, each ranking among the top in the country, and co-founded Good Works Collective, a coaching and retreat-based company that merges business strategy with conscious leadership.

A lifelong learner of both finance and human potential, Tyler brings a rare blend of business acumen, heart-centered leadership, and strategic foresight. His approach to profit and purpose—what he calls “aligning the math with the meaning”—has inspired executives, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders alike.

He currently serves as President of the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple and teaches nationally on mindful leadership, wealth, and impact.
