The American Wild Horse Conservation (formerly American Wild Horse Campaign), along with The Cloud Foundation, Return to Freedom, photographer John Steele, and wild horse advocate Lisa Friday, has successfully intervened in a lawsuit filed by Utah ranchers against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). This legal action seeks to compel the BLM to remove hundreds of wild horses from Iron and Beaver Counties, allowing ranchers to grazelivestockon these public lands.

On August 27, 2014, the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah granted the motion to intervene, marking a significant step in the ongoing battle to protect wild horses from being displaced bylivestockinterests.
