AWHC Supporters Rally for Wild Horses

Today, American Wild Horse Conservation (formerly American Wild Horse Preservation) volunteers Puller Lanigan and Tim Parmly delivered a powerful message to US Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar.

The Bureau of Land Management's wild horse roundup program is inhumane and unacceptable. America's wild horses must never be sold for slaughter. The program must be suspended, and a full investigation ordered.

Since we first learned that the BLM was holding secret meetings where they plotted to sell over 1,700 wild horses to a known kill buyer, Tom Davis, we have grown our movement to take action.

Over 25,130 Americans signed our petition to Secretary Salazar demanding, not only answers, but an emergency stop to the sale, roundup, and removal of wild horses from federal lands.

Today, we delivered that message to the Department of the Interior in Washington.

AWHC supporters Pullen Lanigan and Tim Parmly stand outside the Dept. of the Interior with 21,130 signatures demanding that Sec. Salazar halt the BLM's wild horse program.

Tim Parmly told the Secretary's representative as we handed over the documents that the "power of the people will prevail" on this issue. I couldn't agree more.

This is just one example of the strength of our campaign and the dedication of our supporters. But we're not finished yet. Not by a long shot.

We are keeping track of how many days until Secretary Salazar responds to our request. We expect to hear from him before November 27, 2012.

We need your help today to grow the pressure on Secretary Salazar. Help us spread the word.
