AZ Residents: Take Action for the Salt River Wild Horses

The Salt river wild horses are at risk of being removed from the Tonto National Forest AGAIN. The Arizona Department of Agriculture recently issued a new Request for Proposals that includes the removal of three healthy horses for every foal born, reportedly aiming to leave just 100 wild horses!
During this process, another contractor could come in and remove the horses especially if they fail to fully implement the already successful fertility control program. The Salt River Wild Horse Management Group (SRWHMG) has successfully and collaboratively managed this herd for years. Ending this program would not only harm the horses but also break public trust. It is imperative that SRWHMG gets their contract back. They have already reduced the herd from over 400 to 280 animals slowly over time through humane in-the-wild management.
As SRWHMG fights for the future of their program and these horses, we need your help to speak up and recommend the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group for the contract and protection of these iconic Arizona animals!
