Dear Supporter,

This proud stallion we call Zeus was photographed living wild and free five years ago in Wyoming’s Great Divide Basin Herd Management Area (HMA). He was leading his family to water, standing guard over his mares and youngsters as they drank.

Just months after this photograph was taken, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) helicopters descended on Zeus’ homeland to round up and remove 1,000 horses from the range. The helicopters returned in 2014 to take 527 more.

Is Zeus Still Free?

We don’t know. But he has a right to be.

One of our toughest fights yet has been for the rights of wild horses to live wild and free in this area of land known as the Wyoming Checkerboard.

Legal Battles and Advocacy

This year, we delivered two important legal blows to theBLM’s plans to wipe out wild horses from this area to appease powerful ranching interests.

But the fight goes on. In 2017, theBLMwill attempt to change land use plans to “zero out” (eliminate all wild horses) from the Wyoming Checkerboard.

You can help stop this from happening.

Our legal team is ready to defend Wyoming’s wild horses from theBLM’s latest maneuvers to wipe them out. We’re also expanding our lobbying presence on Capitol Hill and continuing to build our grassroots army. With your help, the power of the people and the law of the land will prevail! Zeus is a reason to give. The future of wild horses like Zeus depends on you.

In Freedom,

Suzanne Roy, Executive Director
