Your voice in 2018 can mean the difference between a life of freedom and brutal death for tens of thousands of America's wild horses and burros. Here's what you need to do!
1. Call Your Elected Officials
LetCongressknow that you oppose the mass roundup and slaughter of America’s wild horses and burros. Urge them to support humane treatment and protection of these animals on ourpublic lands. Call the Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121.
2. Meet with Your Congressperson and Senators
Schedule an appointment to discuss this issue with them in their district office closest to you. Do not be intimidated—the best lobbyists for wild horses are constituents who take the time to meet with their representatives inCongress.
3. Utilize Social Media
President Trump communicates through Twitter, so tweet him a message to express where Americans stand on the protection of wild horses and burros. Facebook and Twitter are also excellent ways to communicate with your Congressperson and Senators.
4. Organize Fellow Constituents
You candownload a letterfor your friends, family, and co-workers to sign. When you meet with your federal representatives, you'll represent more than just yourself. Perhaps some friends or fellow horse lovers will join you at the meeting! Additional sign-on pages can be foundhere.
